Our quarterly gardening service varies by season. The following is a sample of services that may be performed each quarter. This service is flexible and will be adapted to each property, client needs, and seasonal factors.
Not all services are performed at every visit.
Methods include manual removal, soil cultivation, and application of corn gluten-based pre-emergent herbicides. We do not use non-organic chemical herbicides.
Organic fertilizers applied as needed to lawns, roses, azaleas, camellias, fruit trees (including citrus), and other landscape trees, shrubs, and perennials.
May include removal of winter damage to small trees, vines, shrubs, and perennials; light shearing or hand pruning of hedges and other plants to shape and control growth; seasonal rose and fruit tree pruning. Major pruning requires separate scheduling.
Fertilizing 3–4 times per year is included in quarterly maintenance. Annual lawn renewal, aerating, reseeding, and composting are available upon request and billed separately.
Inspection of drip and sprinkler systems for leaks, breaks, clogged emitters, broken heads, and scheduling of automatic timers. Since visits are quarterly, homeowners are encouraged to familiarize themselves with irrigation timers for adjustments. Assistance is available if needed. Major repairs or additions require separate scheduling.
Focus in fall and winter includes removal of leaves, branches, and debris (which may be composted if suitable); dead-heading perennials, annuals, and bulbs; clean-up of vegetable gardens if requested; and blowing or sweeping of walkways, patios, decks, and driveways.
Rose and fruit tree pruning; dormant oil application for disease and insect prevention.
Comprehensive irrigation system check; assessment of winter damage.
Weed and pest control; renewal dead-heading of annuals and perennials; light pruning for growth control of shrubs and trees.
Lawn renewal (with homeowner approval); garden preparation for winter including leaf clean-up.
Although we emphasize that this is a quarterly gardening service, EarthCare will also be available if special needs should arise between quarterly visits.
Depending on the scope of the project, we may need one to two weeks notice in advance to schedule any extra work. If at any time you should need a garden consult for a difficult problem or concern, don’t hesitate to call.
We will try to solve your problem by phone, but if a visit to your property is required a consulting fee of $80/hour will be charged. (This fee would not apply to problems concerning items still under our installation warranty.)
